Bit Digital (NASDAQ: BTBT), ein Ethereum-Treasury-Unternehmen, kündigte Pläne an, sein Bitcoin-Mining-Geschäft vollständig einzustellen und sich stattdessen auf Ethereum-Infrastruktur, Staking und High-Performance Computing (HPC/AI)-Strategien zu konzentrieren.
CEO Sam Tabar erklärte in einem Brief an die Aktionäre, dass Mining mit Marktveränderungen nicht mehr die kapitaleffizienteste Option sei, und das Unternehmen seine digitale Asset-Exposition auf Ethereum konzentriert und seine KI-Infrastruktur durch die Beteiligung von WhiteFiber stärkt, um langfristiges Wachstum zu erzielen, das operationell, monetarierbar und verzinslich ist.
Bit Digital ist seit 2020 im Bitcoin-Mining-Bereich tätig und begann 2022 mit der ETH-Akkumulation und dem Staking rund um Ethereums Übergang zu PoS. Das Unternehmen hat seit 2023 die Führung bei der Einführung von HPC/KI übernommen und wird Mitte 2025 eindeutig zu “reinen Ethereum-Tresoren und Staking” umsteigen, schrittweise Mining-Maschinen verkaufen, Verwahrungsverträge beenden und alte Geräte eliminieren. Die KI-Tochtergesellschaft WhiteFiber hat ihren Börsengang im vergangenen Jahr abgeschlossen, und Bit Digital hält derzeit etwa 27 Millionen Aktien.
