Foresight News vor Ort berichtet, Mitbegründer von Bitkub Atthakrit Chimplapi, Coinhako-Mitbegründer und CEO Yusho Liu sowie Wei Zhou, CEO von Coins.ph, diskutierten auf dem Roundtable „Charting the Explosive Growth of Crypto Adoption in Southeast Asia“ bei der Consensus 2026 in Hongkong über den aktuellen Stand des Kryptowährungsmarktes in Südostasien. Die Teilnehmer wiesen darauf hin, dass die tatsächliche Anzahl der Krypto-Nutzer in Südostasien weit über 10 Millionen liegt und sich der Markt an einem entscheidenden Wendepunkt befindet, an dem sich der Fokus von reinem Einzelhandels-Spekulation auf kommerzielle Zahlungen und institutionelle Nutzung verschiebt.
Der Mitbegründer der thailändischen Krypto-Börse Bitkub, Atthakrit Chimplapi, erklärte, dass die thailändische Regierung eine Null-Prozent-Kapitalertragssteuer eingeführt hat. Bitkub plant, in diesem Jahr durch Übernahmen in den Bereich Wertpapier- und Derivatehandel einzusteigen und hat bereits eine thailändische Baht-Stablecoin eingeführt, um den Einzelhandelszahlungsverkehr zu fördern.
Yusho Liu, Mitbegründer und CEO der singapurischen Krypto-Börse Coinhako, betonte, dass Stablecoins im Bereich Treasury-Management und grenzüberschreitende Abwicklung großes Potenzial zeigen. Coinhako hat ein entsprechendes grenzüberschreitendes Zahlungspilotprojekt gestartet. Zudem wurde die Lizenz kürzlich aufgewertet, um weltweit Kunden bedienen zu können.
Wei Zhou, CEO der philippinischen Krypto-Börse Coins.ph, sagte, dass Coins.ph den Fokus von der Einzelhandelsinfrastruktur auf die kommerzielle Anwendung verlagert, um Kryptowährungen in Handels- und Kreditgeschäftsszenarien zu integrieren. Zudem plant man, auf der Insel Boracay einen Stablecoin-Zahlungspilot durchzuführen.
