Riot Platforms zahlt 20 Millionen USD zur Beilegung von Streitigkeiten mit SBI Crypto

Riot Platforms stimmt zu, 20 Millionen USD in bar an SBI Crypto zu zahlen, um einen dreijährigen Rechtsstreit im Zusammenhang mit der Bitcoin-Mining-Storage-Vereinbarung bei der Whinstone-Anlage in Rockdale, Texas, beizulegen. Die Vereinbarung wurde am 16. Februar getroffen, nur eine Woche nach Beginn des Gerichtsverfahrens am Bundesgericht im Westtexas-Bezirk.

Die Klage wurde im April 2023 eingereicht, als SBI Vertragsverletzung vorwarf und Schadensersatz in Höhe von über 175 Millionen USD forderte, später auf über 350 Millionen USD erhöht. Das Gericht wies jedoch einen Teil der Schadensersatzforderungen ab, basierend auf dem gestiegenen Bitcoin-Preis.

Gleichzeitig hat Whinstone im Jahr 2025 die “Rhodium Settlement”-Vereinbarung im Wert von 185 Millionen USD abgeschlossen. Riot verzeichnete im Jahr 2025 einen Umsatz von 647 Millionen USD, minte 5.686 BTC und hält mehr als 18.000 BTC.
