Abstract generation in progress

According to ChainCatcher news and a report by CoinDesk, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) has released a series of investigative reports titled Coin Laundry, revealing a massive Crypto Assets crime financial network. The report shows that illegal funds are being laundered through major Crypto Assets exchanges. The tracked Crypto Assets are linked to global criminal groups, including North Korean hackers, human trafficking activities by Sino-Russian crime syndicates, fentanyl and other drug trafficking, the Sinaloa drug cartel in Mexico, and the operations of Crypto Assets cash-out shops in Ukraine and Dubai. Gerard Ryle, Executive Director of ICIJ, stated that the investigation revealed how criminal forces exploit the Crypto Assets market to transfer illegal cash in plain sight and questioned the level of complicity of major Crypto Assets exchanges in fueling criminal activities.
