Russian police detain 7 power company employees over suspected assistance in illegal cryptocurrency mining causing approximately $129,000 in losses

BlockBeats News, December 29 – Russian police detained 7 employees affiliated with “Russian Grid Moscow Region” (Россети Московский регион), suspected of assisting illegal cryptocurrency mining operations within Moscow Oblast. The arrested individuals range from ordinary electricians to senior engineers. Authorities stated that these employees of the power company provided paid “services” to illegal mining farms, including artificially lowering meter readings, helping to evade plans, and conducting temporary inspections.
