The first in the US! Wyoming's official stablecoin "FRNT" officially launched and open for public purchase

Wyoming announced on Wednesday that the United States’ first officially issued dollar stablecoin by a state government — the “Frontier Stable Token (FRNT)” — is now live and available for public purchase. This stablecoin was designed under the strategic guidance of the “Wyoming Stable Token Commission,” with Wyoming representatives stating in a declaration:

FRNT marks a significant milestone in financial innovation — it perfectly combines the security and regulatory oversight of state-managed reserves with the high efficiency and transparency of blockchain technology.

Today, the Commission made the Frontier Stable Token available for public purchase through Wyoming-domiciled cryptocurrency exchange @krakenfx.

According to reports, FRNT adopts an over-collateralization mechanism, backed by USD cash and U.S. short-term government bonds, with a reserve ratio maintained at a minimum of 102%, and managed by Franklin Advisers to ensure stability and trustworthiness. It is worth noting that this project is not only a financial experiment but also has a social公益性. The Wyoming government stated that the interest income generated from FRNT reserve assets will be used to fund public school education programs in the state, making the stablecoin a “public good,” while also diversifying revenue sources beyond taxes for the state government. Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson said, “Our collaboration with Wyoming proves that when the public and private sectors work together, we can establish a compliant and trustworthy operational framework for digital assets.” As early as 2023, after Wyoming passed the milestone “Stable Token Act,” the state began exploring the feasibility of an official stablecoin. After rigorous testing and evaluation of 11 blockchains, the official selected Solana, known for its high performance, as the native blockchain for FRNT, and extended its reach to Ethereum mainnet and Layer 2 scaling solutions (such as Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Polygon) and Avalanche through the LayerZero cross-chain protocol, enabling multi-chain circulation. Currently, investors can purchase FRNT through Kraken, a Wyoming-based cryptocurrency exchange. The official emphasizes that FRNT will offer the following user experiences:
