英國前首相波里斯·強森(Boris Johnson)近日在《每日郵報》發表文章,直言比特幣是「巨大的龐氏騙局」,並以個人聽到的故事佐證:牛津郡村莊的一位退休老人在嘗試提款時損失約 2 萬英鎊,疑似遭遇詐騙。
強森質疑,為何要信任由匿名的中本聰所創建、毫無機構背書的系統?他更反問:「如果他們解密了加密貨幣,我們找誰負責?」他認為比特幣不過是儲存在一系列電腦中的一串數字,遠不如黃金或收藏品有實際價值。
但我們知道,強森以退休老人的詐騙案作為比特幣有罪的佐證,本身即存在邏輯謬誤。詐騙者利用比特幣行騙,並不等同於比特幣本身是詐騙,猶如電話詐騙不等於電話是騙局。
